Opening look from my Spring Summer 2026 collection, “Out of the woods” inspired by the Romanian Myth of “Ielele”, entirely made out of Chantilly Floral Lace.
Enchanting and perilous fairy-like beings from Romanian folklore, the ielele are said to emerge under moonlight, especially around midsummer (Sânziene), to dance in circles of dazzling light. Their mesmerizing dance, known as the hora ielelor, is both beautiful and dangerous, those who witness or disturb it may fall under their spell, struck mute, paralyzed, or lost to madness.
Mysterious and untamed, the ielele embody the wild magic of nature, where beauty and danger are one and the same.
Technique-wise, a gown from Madeleine Vionnet’s Spring Summer 1938 collection served as
inspiration for the scalloped fringe arcs technique explored in this look
