“Brâncuși and the Dancing Muses” is a special exhibition presented by the National Institute of Heritage (INP) in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week, highlighting the intersection between heritage, dance, and contemporary fashion.Inspired by the historic collaboration between Constantin Brâncuși and avant-garde dancer Lizica Codreanu, the installation revisits and reinterprets Brâncuși’s original costume concepts through a modern creative lens. By translating his sculptural vision into movement and textile expression, the project connects Brâncuși’s artistic legacy with today’s diverse creative industries. The exhibition complements this season’s theme for the NEXT GENERATION – Fashion Talent Award, “Cultural Heritage in Fashion: A Bridge Between Tradition and Innovation”, emphasizing the importance of reimagining cultural heritage in a way that supports innovation, sustainability, and the evolution of artistic expression.Through this collaboration, INP and MBBFW celebrate the dialogue between past and present, honoring Brâncuși’s influence while encouraging new generations of designers to draw inspiration from cultural memory and reinterpret it for the future.
