“Sarmizegetusa”, created by BALKAN ATELIER, marks the debut project of creative directors Ștefan Dragic și Vasilis Marlantis, and presents a multidisciplinary exploration at the intersection of fine art, fashion, and architectural design.Rooted in Eastern European heritage, the installation reimagines traditional Balkan motifs through a contemporary artistic language. The project transforms ancestral symbols, patterns, and cultural narratives into modern design objects and garments.Through this reinterpretation, “Sarmizegetusa” bridges history with present-day creative expression, offering a renewed perspective on the cultural richness of the Balkans and its influence within today’s fashion and art landscape. The installation highlights how heritage can be a catalyst for innovation, encouraging new dialogues between tradition, architecture, textile artistry, and contemporary design.
