Sustainability Dinner
The Sustainability Dinner marked one of the most significant moment of the third edition of Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week. Designed as a space for dialogue, the event brought together influential figures from the European fashion landscape, designers, cultural leaders, policy-makers, and innovators committed to development across the industry. Romania’s Minister of Culture, András István Demeter, honored the evening with his presence, highlighting the national importance of sustainability in the creative industries. Throughout the evening, discussions focused on the shared responsibility of European fashion organizations to accelerate sustainable transformation.
The event also marked Romania’s official entry of the Council of Fashion Designers of Romania (CFDR) into the European Fashion Alliance (EFA). This integration marks a strategic step forward for Romanian fashion, aligning it with Europe’s leading institutions dedicated to innovation, transparency, and long-term sustainable development. The dinner welcomed esteemed EFA representatives, Carlo Capasa (Chairman, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana), Scott Lipinski (CEO Fashion Council Germany, Chairman EFA), and Elke Timmerman (Flanders DC, Board Member EFA). Their presence and contributions brought valuable perspectives on how sustainability can be implemented through cross-border collaboration, policy alignment, education, and the nurturing of emerging talent.
The Sustainability Dinner not only celebrated an important new chapter for CFDR and MBFW, but also reinforced Romania’s place within the European dialogue on responsible fashion. It set the tone for deeper partnerships and future initiatives aimed for building a more ethical, transparent, and resilient creative sector.
