The Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana becomes one of the institutional partners at Bucharest Fashion Week.

The Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana becomes one of the institutional partners at the first edition of Bucharest Fashion Week, which will take place in the autumn of this year. CNMI, the organizer of Milano Fashion Week, is the entity that regulates, coordinates, and promotes Italian fashion. The organization represents the highest cultural values of Italian fashion and is intended to protect, coordinate, and amplify its image both in Italy and worldwide. Through this support, the first fashion event in Bucharest gains unprecedented legitimacy and scope in Romania.

The Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana becomes one of the institutional partners at Bucharest Fashion Week.

The goal of Bucharest Fashion Week is to connect designers, buyers, fashion publications, mass media,
manufacturers, and academics to develop the fashion industry in Romania and the region. BFW will
bring together not only specific suppliers, such as local brands or designers, but also potential local and
international buyers. The organizers aim to promote local designers in international markets through
foreign press guests, influencers, and globally significant buyers, turning “Made in Romania” into an
internationally appreciated brand.

“Bucharest Fashion Week is committed to becoming a local and national economic engine, contributing
to Romania’s prestige in the global fashion industry. We aim to promote local talents and develop strong
institutional collaborations with all important European players in the field, providing a platform for both
education and opening international career opportunities for Romanian designers. Our goal is to make
Bucharest an important hub in European fashion, bringing with it both visibility and investments. We
thank Milano Fashion Week and the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana for their support,” said Mario
Antico, lawyer, founder of the Italian International School of Bucharest, co-founder of Bucharest Fashion
Week.

BFW is structured around four major pillars. The most important, of course, is the presentations of
fashion collections, which represent the main objective of fashion weeks. Well-known designers from
Romania and Eastern Europe will showcase their creations in classic or unconventional spaces, with
invitation-based access, but the shows will also be available live to all fashion enthusiasts through
projections in George Enescu Square.

The aim of this large-scale event is to transform Romania into a hub for the fashion industry in Eastern
Europe, attracting both visibility and investments.

The second objective of the event is education, with Bucharest Fashion Week offering students who
wish to pursue a career in art or fashion design, as well as those already working in these fields, access
to Executive Programs organized in Bucharest but with professors from renowned European universities.
Bucharest Fashion Week aims to bring sustainability in fashion to the public agenda as a topic of interest.
The sustainability conference organized at BFW will bring together, for the first time, both designers and
representatives of companies in the light industry and textiles, in an attempt to define a more
sustainable future for Romanian fashion.

The event will be attended by representatives of international institutions, influencers, celebrities,
renowned figures from the industry, designers, and producers. The conference will be followed by a
Gala, where awards will be given to designers and producers who have distinguished themselves
through the implementation of sustainability strategies in their businesses.
Last but not least, this large-scale event, with renowned guests from around the world, aims to promote
Bucharest. In addition to designers from Romania, Ukraine, Moldova, and Poland, the event will also
have a surprise guest, a renowned Italian designer.

“After a 25-year career in the fashion industry as editor-in-chief and publisher of Elle Romania, the time
has come for me to contribute differently to the promotion of Romanian fashion. I started from the idea
that Bucharest and Romania deserve to have a Fashion Week, an event that puts us on the international
map and, locally, plays the role of a catalyst to bring together all creative forces to truly develop the
fashion industry in Romania. The partnership with the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (the entity
that organizes Milan Fashion Week) is an important moment in the evolution of this ambitious project,”
said Roxana Voloșeniuc, Editor & Publisher of Elle Romania, co-founder of Bucharest Fashion Week.
The first edition of Bucharest Fashion Week will take place on October 16-17, 2024, in iconic locations
in the center of the capital.
